Wireless Nework and NDISwrapper on Ubuntu Intrepid

( Or how to make sure you buy a supported wireless card otherwise you are toast)

Well I decided to finally have a wireless network at home and do it on the cheap. I have an old PC lying around so I said to myself get a cheap wireless network card supported on Ubuntu and voila. Well it is not that easy specially when you buy the wrong card!

A HA Two-Node Server Side Cluster Using Glusterfs and CentOS

I came across Glusterfs the other day. On the surface it seemed similar to DRBD but after closer examination I did realize it was completely different. After some reading I came to realize it may offer benefits over DRDB and GNBD and it seemed extremely straight forward to implement so I decided to test a two-node cluster and run Apache on it.

Two-Node GNBD Redux

In a previous post I had a two-node cluster using gnbd on CentOS. While that setup worked fine it had a major draw back. It used manual fencing thus not a practical real life example. So I decided to test a better setup, since I am using virtual machines the way to do this was to use gnbd fencing and gfs.

IPV6 Tunneling with FC9

I have been running an IPV6 tunnel from Freenet6 for about 3 years now on my Fedora box through my cable provider. Of course I do this because Comcast does not support IPV6 yet and I wanted to see what the fuzz was all about. So here it is my setup.

Two-Node GNBD Cluster

I have wanted to test clustering now for a while and finally got the time to do so. Such cluster setup is documented a plenty on the Internet but hopefully my experience will help others.

For one at home I do not have a couple of servers lying around nor I have a SAN, so I decided to use Vmware and GNBD and test the whole thing with Apache as the service to test.

Got Themes

Well I did figure out why the new themes I tried were not working. It had to do with static content duh!.

After removing some of the static content the new theme loaded fine. So now I can start writing about some other stuff I wanted which is why I started this blog in the first place.

Cheers.

Hello World!

I decided to start my own blog finally. In the past I have used and played with a lot of stuff (computers is my game, music what I like to do actually) but never got the time to write anything down although in my previous life as a physicist I wrote a few papers.
